Propagation
Divide the rhizome during spring.

Sow fresh seed during spring and place in wet soils and maintain 18º to 21º C.


Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are modified to form bracts that are linear and are arranged in a whorl. They are dark green and tend to slope downwards.

Flower: The yellow-brown spikelets are arranged in a small terminal compound umbel that is held above the foliage and appears from early to late summer.

Fruit: The small flattened nut is 3 angular and contains numerous small seeds. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
