Propagation
Take cuttings from young shoots from late spring to summer.
Aerial layering is used during the growing period and a moist and humid environment should be maintained.
Botanic information
Leaf: The large leathery textured leaves areelliptical to ovate with an acuminate apex (drip tip) and the mid rib is yellow green. The petiole is long and the leaf tends to fold upwards along the mid rib.
Flower: The tiny flowers appear in the leaf axils and are enclosed in the developing fruit. They are produced throughout the year in warm climates.
Fruit: This globular green- yellow pome appear in the axils of the fallen leaves and is very attractive to bats which excrete the seed onto branches of other trees where they germinate and form aerial roots.
