Sow fresh seed during early spring.
Take healed cuttings during from mid spring to summer.
Note:
Care should be taken when selecting a site allowing ample room for it to grow as it has vigorous invasiveroots that can lift concrete and block drains.
Botanic information
Leaf: The linear leaves are up to 3mm (?in) wideand are arranged in 2-ranks on lateral shoots. The apex is abruptly acute and the undersides have 2-wide white stomatic bands.
Flower: The yellowish male strobili are axillary or terminal and appear on the ends of small shoots during spring. The oval female terminal strobilus (cones) is formed with 14 to 20 bracts.
Fruit: The cone is oval with wrinkled scales and is green turning brown on maturity in the first season. The small seeds have wings and there are 250,000 to the kilogram!
