Propagation
Lift and divide the bulbs when the foliage dies off and replant during autumn. When planting out space 100 mm (4 in) apart and 50 mm (2 in) deep.
Culture
Remove spent flowers to prolong the flowering period and remove only the spent foliage.
Botanic information
Leaf: The strap-like lanceolate leaves are up to 15 mm (? in)wide and arise from the bulb radically, standing erect. The fleshy textured leaves have an obtuse apex and the margins are entire.
Flower: The campanulate (bell-shaped) flowers are white with a single green dot on each of the 6-petals. The flowers are solitary or are arranged in an umbel of 2 to 3 on a long slender pedicle and are held above the foliage on scape that is up to 300 mm (1 ft) tall. They appaear from late winter to early spring.
Fruit: The small berry is not commonly produced and the fruit is often removed during cultivation. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
