Propagation
Sow fresh seed in a well-drained media and place in a warm moist environment.

Take soft tip or semi hardwood cuttings for the variegated form from spring to summer.

Note:
Care should be taken when planting as the tree becomes massive and the roots can block drains or lift concrete paths.


Botanic information
Leaf: The glossy dark green leathery leaves are broad ovate to elliptical up 250mm(9µin) longx 150mm (6in) wide. The underside is covered ina rusty coloured tomentum. The apex is short acuminate and the pubescent petiole is short.

Flower: The tiny flowers are enclosed on the inside walls of the developing fruits and are produced through the year. They are arranged in the leaf axils towards the end of the branches.

Fruit: The globular fig ripens to yellow and is arranged in pairs in the upper leaf axils. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
