Propagation
Take semi-hardwood cuttings from late summer to early winter.

This plant is difficult to grow from seed.


Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are narrow elliptical to lanceolate with entire to undulate margins and have an acute apex. The base is cuneate with a petiole up to 6mm (¥in) long. The leaves are aromatic when crushed and when dried the leaves are sweeter and become strongly aromatic.

Flower: The small yellow apetalous flowers are bi-sexual or uni-sexual and arranged in an axillary umbel that appears in the upper leaf axils during spring.

Fruit: The fruit is a long purplish-black ovoid berry. The tree has been used for medicinal purposes and the small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
