Surface sow fresh seeds during spring and prick out when large enough to handle.

Take semi-hardwood cuttings in autumn of better varieties.

This plant is resistantto Phytophthora cinnamomi.


Botanic information
Leaf: The narrow linear leaves are bright to dark green with a recurved apex. When crushed the leaves are mildly aromatic.

Flower: The creamy-white cyathiform flowers are arranged in a spike that appears on short lateral branches that continue as the new shoots. The spikes can reach up to 70mm (2µin) longand contain up to 70 blooms and appear from spring to early summer.

Note
Generally Melaleucaspecies have small flowers that consist of a calyx tube that is lobed at the top. The small oval petals are up to 3mm (?in) long and normally insignificant. These are arranged in a cup-shape that is filled with numerous bundles of long filaments that fan out, with a thick central style that is slightly longer.

Fruit: The urceolate three cells woody capsule is up to 3 mm wide and up to 60 are arranged in tightly packed spikes. They are green ageing to brown and are persistent on the plant. Each capsule contains the numerous tiny seeds.
