Culture
Trim regularly to maintain juvenal foliage and clip closely against wall or structure to create a even coverage. Adult foliage may cause the plant to peel off walls or structures and should be removed.


Botanic information
Leaf: The ovate juvenile leaves are up to 25 mm (1 in) long by 20 mm (µ in) wide with a cordate base and have a crinkled orange to green upper surface, pubescent below. The leathery textured, glabrous adult leaves are up to 45 mm (1µ in)wide and have and an even cordate base. The apex is acute and the pubescent petiole is up to 12mm (½ in) long. The upper surface is smooth and the leaf colour is orange-green maturing to dark green.

Flower: The tiny flowers are enclosed on the inside walls of the developing fruits (invaginated) and are produced through the year. They are arranged in the leaf axils towards the end of the branches. The flower structure can be observed by breaking open the fruit.

Fruit: The oblong fig is up to 60 mm (2? in) wide and is produced on older plants. It is green, ageing to yellow and is purplish on the sunny side. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
