Propagation
Sow seed during spring in boxes and plant out at 250 mm (9µ in) apart after the frost period has passed.
Take cuttings during the growing period and place them in a sand-peat mixture and keep humid.
Larger plants may be transplanted easily.

It self sows readily and has become a weed in many regions.
Botanic information
Leaf: The fleshy textured leaves are narrow elliptical to ovate with anacuminate apex and long reddish petiole. The leaves are arranged alternately, but may be opposite in the upper branches.
Flower: The rotate flowers are flattened and are solitary or arranged in a terminal raceme. There are double or semi-double flower and a spur is formed from modified sepal. The flowering period is during summer but may be extended throughout the year in warmer regions.
Fruit: The slender ovoid 5 ribbed capsule exploding when ripe to scatter the seeds. These seeds are very viable and self-sow easily. The plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively to maintain true to type.
