Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 19º to 27º C. (66º to 81º F).
Take soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during spring and semi hardwood cuttings during summer.
Culture
The yellowing leaves (chlorosis) may be due to nematode attack and, or pH induced magnesium deficiency.
Botanic information
Leaf: The stiff leathery spathulate leaves have an obtuse apex and a short petiole. They are arranged in whorls of three in the leaf axils.
Flower: The tubulate flowers have a long greenish tube with up to 9-expanded lobes that are overlapping and waxy. They appear solitary from spring to early summer.
Fruit: The large berry contains many seeds but is rarely seen under cultivation and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
