Take soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during spring and semi hardwood cuttings during summer.
Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are broad ovate to elliptical with a dentate to serrate margins. The upper surface has deep venation with an abruptly acuminate apex and a short petiole to 12mm (½in) long. The naked buds are leafy and the new leaves emerge folded.
Flower: The outer sterile createriform flowers have 4 to 5 rounded lobes and the inner fertile flowers are inconspicuous. These are arranged in a 2-tiered globose terminal cyme that is up to 150mm (6in) wide and appear during spring.
Fruit: The red berry-like drupe turns red to black and the small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
