Propagation
Sow fresh seeds from spring to summer in a well-drained media.
Take soft tip cuttings from summer to autumn and apply bottom heat.
Note:
This plant is regarded as a weed in many regions as it can self-sow or spread vegetatively readily and is discouraged from use in gardens.
Botanic information
Leaf: The leathery mid to light green ovate leaves are almost sessile with a short petiole and are up to 20mm (µ in) wide. The apex is abruptly obtuse and mucronate and the new leaves are mealy white.
Flower: The 3-petaled papillionate flowers have an upright purplish standard and the keel petals are crested with a fringed apex. They are arranged at the tips of the branches in a terminal raceme that appears from late winter to spring.
Fruit: The compressed heart-shaped capsule has 2 chambers with 2-seeds. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
