Propagation
Take soft tip during spring or semi hardwood cuttings from summer to autumn.
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 12º to 15º C. (55º to 59º F).
Botanic information
Leaf: The large velvety dull green leaves are broad ovate with a rough texture and are paler on the underside. The petiole is long and the apex is acuminate with the larger leaves tending to fold downwards.
Flower: The small lilac-mauve bisexual tube-shaped flowers have prominentstamens and the flower head is arranged in a large flat toped corymb-like panicle that appears during late spring.
Fruit: The small seed is not commonly used and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
