Propagation
Surface sow fresh seed during spring in a well-drained media and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F). Prick out and pot up when they are large enough to handle.

Graft onto E. gummiferaand E. maculatarootstock.


Botanic information
Leaf: The juvenile leaves are ovate up to 120mm (5in) long and the adult leaves are broad lanceolate, tending to falcate with an acuminate apex. The leaves have undulating margins and the new growth is reddish maturing to bright green with a leathery texture.

Flower: The flowers appear profusely with 3 to 7 blooms arranged in a terminal umbel that is in a panicle and gives an excellent display over the tree during early summer. The buds are pyriform and have a hemispherical operculum.

Fruit: The capsule is urceolate (urn shape) up to 40mm (1? in) wide and contains many tiny seeds.
