Propagation
Take soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during late spring and semi hardwood cuttings taken during late summer.

Divide or use layering during the growing period and this plant transplants easily when young.

Culture
This plant is prone to fungal disease and watering from above should be avoided. It is also susceptible to the Meadow Nematode.


Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are elliptical to ovate and the apex is emarginate (notched). They are glossy dark green on both surfaces and the mid-vein on the underside is yellowish. During winter the leaves turn yellowish-brown.

Flower: The tiny apetelous flowers appear in upper leaf axil during spring and the male flowers cluster around the terminal females. The males flowers have 4-sepals and long stamens and the females have 6-sepals and both appear during spring.

Fruit: The fruit is a globular capsule containing six black seeds. The small seeds are not commonly seen and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
