Propagation
Surface sow fresh seed on a peaty bed and maintain a temperature of 21° C (70°F) until germination occurs. Prick out when large enough to handle.
Take leaf cuttings with a petiole should be placed in a well drained moist media with bottom heat applied. They will form an established clump in 1 to 3 years. Avoid over watering as they will rot easily.
Note:
There are many cultivars with variable flower colour requiring bright indirect light and water from below and do not allowed it to dry out.
Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green ovate leaves are covered in fine tomentose with a fleshy and brittle texture. The petiole is up to 80mm (3?in) long and the leaf has a prominant mid rib.
Flower: The small brightly coloured rotate flowers are single or double and are avalable in a wide colour range and are arranged in a terminal cyme that appears throughout summer.
Fruit: The seeds are very small and are not often seen.The seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively to maintain true to type.
