Propagation
Take nodal cuttings with roots that are already growing, from the mother plant. This plant is easy to propagate and should be planted 300mm (1ft) apart.
Botanic information
Leaf: The ovate leaves have margins that are slightly lobed to serrate. The basal leaves have a small or no petiole and the upper pubescent leaves are sessile.
Flower: The bluish 2-lipped labiate flowers have a small pedicle and are arranged in whorls on a spike that is up to 100mm (4in) tall and appear from late spring to early summer.
Fruit: The four small nutlets are only produced in cooler climates. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
