Propagation
Sow fresh seeds during spring in containers.
Cultivars are budded onto one-year-old stock from late spring to summer.

This tree may be grown from cuttings placed under glass and grown in a sandy mix.
This tree transplants easily when semi mature.

Culture
The trees, moderately drought tolerant once established and should be planted in a wind protected position as the branches are brittle.

Note:
This plant is regarded as a weed in many regions as it can self-sow or spread vegetatively readily and is discouraged from use in gardens.


Botanic information
Leaf: The parpinnate leaves have 9 to 28 elliptic to oval leaflets that are up to 50mm (2in) long with a mucronate apex. The pale green underside is glabrous and in autumn the leaves turn yellow but are not showy. There are 3 to 4 brown pubescent lateral buds.

Flower: The nectar rich papillionate flowers are creamy white with yellow centre and are arranged in a dense pendulous raceme that is up to 150mm (6in) long and appear during spring.

Fruit: The flattened pods are nut-brown colour containing 4 to 8 black kidney-shape seeds, which remain on the tree till late winter. This tree often self sows.
