Propagation
Stratify fresh seeds for 2 months during winter and sow in pots and place in a cold frame to germinate. The seed coat may require scarification.

Take root cuttings and during winter.


Botanic information
Leaf: The imparipinnate leaves have 7 to 15 ovate leaflets that are up to 100mm (4in) long, with margins that are lobed and serrated. The apex is acute and the petiole is short to the slender rachis. During autumn the leaves turn yellow with an orange tinge before falling.

Flower: The polygamous flowers are arranged in a terminal panicle that is up to 380mm (15in) long and covering the crown for about 10 days during early summer, then shed continuously and appear like golden-rain.

Fruit: The green-yellow papery capsule has 3-valves and contains pea-size hard black seeds. The fruit is an attractive feature of the plant.
