Propagation

Culture
In cold climates it is grown in a conservatory is or glasshouse as a specimen and is a popular indoor plant tolerating neglect.
Note:
Care should be taken when selecting a sight as the tree has vigorous roots that can lift concrete and block drains.
Botanic information
Leaf: The palmate leaves have 7 to 15 elliptical to oblong semi-pendant leaflets that are 200mm to 390mm (8in to 16in) long and are arranged radially (umbrella-like).
Flower: The bright red flowers are arranged on radiating terminal spikes that are held above the foliage and appear from summer to autumn and are a feature of the plant. They have cream stamens that are rich in nectar but the flowers may not appear every year and indoor specimens rarely flower.
Fruit: The small rounded drupe contains five or more viable seeds. The small seeds germinate readily but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
