Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 12º to 15º C. (55º to 59º F).
Take semi hardwood cuttings from autumn to winter for selected forms.
Botanic information
Leaf: The elliptical leaves soft green when young becoming dull dark green and have silvery tomentose on the undersides, (felty-like). The apex is acute and the petiole is short.
Flower: The nectar rich cyathiform flowers have 5-sepals and 5-small orbicular petals and protuding red stamens.They are arranged in a terminal, paniculated cyme that appears from late spring to midsummer. The buds have a grey felted texture.
Fruit: The woody capsules appears in a cluster during autumn. The small seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
