Propagation
Sow seed when ripe in pots or flats and place in a cold frame to germinate. Prick out when large enough to handle and pot on for one season before planting out. .

Take semi hardwood cuttings during summer and place in a protected environment and apply bottom heat.


Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are elliptical to obovate with a petiole up to 6mm (¥in) long. The apex is obtuse to acute and the texture is leathery.

Flower: The small urceolate flowers have fused petals that form an urn-shape and are arranged in a pendant terminal panicle that is up to 50mm (2in) long and appears from late autumn to early winter.

Fruit: The spherical, warty, berry-like drupe is edible but tasteless and may be narcotic if taken in quantity. The small seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
