Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification.
This plant is resistantto Phytophthora cinnamomi.
General information on pruning Acacia species
Tolerates a light prune after flowering back to a node, remove any dead wood back to the collar. If there is insufficient light towards the base of the tree prune the crown to allow the light in. The plants tend to be easily damaged by wind or borers, and damaged material should be removed.
Botanic information
Leaf: The silvery green bipinnate leaves have numerious narrow leaflets that are sessile with a pointed apex and are covered in tiny white hairs (pubescent).
Flower: The profuse bisexual tubulate flowers have inconspicuous sepals and petals and prominentstamens. They are arranged in a raceme that contain up to 30 to 40 flowering heads and appear during early spring.
Fruit: The glaucous green flattened legume is curved and constricted between the hard coated seeds. It may look moniliform.
