Sow fresh seed during spring after danger of frost has past directly in a prepared bed and barely covering them with a light soil mix.
Thin seedlings out and space 80 mm (3? in) apart when large enough to handle. The soil they grow in should be enriched with organic material and kept moist.
Botanic information
Leaf: The mid green sessile linear leaves are fleshy and cylindrical with a pointed apex.
Flower: The cyathiform flowers have 4 to 7 petals in an assortment of colours from white, pink and yellow in single and doubles. They appear singularly above the foliage from summer to autumn.
Fruit: The small capsule on this plant generally does not form because spent flowers are usually removed during cultivation before fruit can set. Seeds are smallwith up to10,000 per gram.
