Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring in boxes and then plant out at 150mm to 250mm (9µ in) intervals. Plant seedlings after the frost period has finished and the seedlings transplant easily.

Take soft tip cuttings during spring and placed in a sand-peat mixture and place in a humid environment.


Botanic information
Leaf: The bright green leaves are lanceolate to elliptical and have a fleshy texture. The apex is acuminate and the fleshy petiole is short.

Flower: The single flattened rotateflowers have 5-petals and are also avalable indoubles or semi-doubles. At the base of the flower aspur is formed from a modified sepaland the flowers are arranged in a terminal or axillary cluster that appears throughout summer.

Fruit: The slender ovoid 5-ribbed capsule explodes when ripe to scatter the seeds. The seeds are very viable and the plant self-sows easily but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
