Propagation
Take soft tip cuttings during spring and semi-hardwood cuttings in autumn. Place in a well-drained media and keep moist until roots appear.

General pruning information
This plant may be trimmed to form a hedge with regular light prune using hedge clippers. This is usually carried out after flowering. The plant may also be rejuvenated by cutting back to near ground level using a pruning saw and will recover from frost damage.


Botanic information
Leaf: The glossy green elliptical leaves are up to 40 mm (1? in)wide and have an acute to acuminate apex. It has a short petiole and a prominent pale green mid-rib. The margins are serrated in the upper half of the leaf and when crushed are aromatic due to the resin glands on the underside.

Flower: The tube-like salverform flowers have 5-expanded petals that are rosy pink with a waxy-like appearance and are arranged in a loose terminal pendant panicle that appears during summer.

Fruit: The small capsular fruit have a persistent style and calyx attached and produces numerous small seeds. The small seed is not commonly seen and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
