Propagation
Divide an established clump during winter.
Take soft tip cuttings during early spring and place in a protected environment.
Sow fresh seed in flats or a prepared bed during spring.
Botanic information
Leaf: The mid green elliptical to lanceolate leaves are arranged oppositly or alternately on upper part of the plant and the apex are acuminate.
Flower: The salverform flowers have a long tubular base opening with 5-ovate petals that are notched at the apex. They are arranged in a large terminal panicle that is up to 150mm (6in) in diameter and stand clear of the foliage during summer.
Fruit: The small seed is not commonly used and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
