Botanic information
Leaf: The silvery green oblanceolate to elliptical leaves are arranged densely along the stems andare overlapping. The leaf surface heavily covered in softsilky white hairsand in wet conditions the leaves become soft and fall apart.
Flower: The small pink-mauve to purple tubulate flowers are arranged in a terminal spike that is held above the foliage on a scape that is up to 300mm (1ft) tall and appears throughout summer.
Fruit: The small fruit is an oblong nutlet and the small seeds are viable but the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
