Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a minimum temperature of 26ºC (79ºF). Seeds may take up to 5 months to germinate.


Botanic information
Leaf: The paripinnate fronds have a short sheathing base with a mealy white coating towards the top. The yellow green lanceolate leaflets are arranged in different planes along the midrib and the petiole is yellowish.

Flower: The male and female flowers are found on the same inflorescence both having 3-sepals and 3-petals that are overlapping in bud. The flowers are arranged on a upright to pendulous panicle that is up to 600mm (2ft) long and appear during summer.

Fruit: The fleshy drupes are ovoid and bear a scar at the base from the stigma.
