Sow seed when ripe and maintain a warm humid environment.
Take cuttings from upright vertical shoots during growing period.
Note:
Care should be taken when planting as the tree becomes large and the roots can damage pathways or buildings.
Botanic information
Leaf: The juvenile foliage slightly longnarrow awl-shape with asmooth-soft textureand the adult foliageis shorter, stiff and strongly incurved. The foliage is arranged along the upright pointing branchlets in a fish bone-like pattern.
Flower: The cylindrical male catkins are up to 70mm (2? in)long and the spherical female cones are up to 100mm (4in) in diameter. They appear during early spring.
Fruit: The globose cones are produced on mature trees and are up to 100mm (4in) diameter with scales that have in curved tips and break open when ripe to release numerous papery seeds.
