Propagation
Sow seed during autumn or spring indoors and keep moist. Prick out when they are 50-70 mm (2? in) tall and plant out 300mm (1 ft) apart.
Botanic information
Leaf: The sessile linear to oblanceolate leaves are covered in fine silvery pubescence. The entire margins recurved and the apex is acute.
Flower: The central disc florets are the orange and the ray florets are yellow or golden-white. These are surrounded by bracts that are stiff and colourful and the flowers appear on a tall stiff scape above the foliage from spring to summer.
Fruit: The small seeds of viable and self so freely but the seed heads are commonly removed during cultivation.
