Sow fresh seed during spring in a well drained media and keep moist.
Botanic information
Leaf: The juvenile leaves are compound with 3 to 9 linear leaflets and the leathery textured narrow lanceolate adult leaves may be deciduous. The apex is acuminate and the petiole is up to 65mm (2½in) long.
Flower: The apetalous flowers have a downy calyx that is divided into 5-narrow lobes and may or may not contain both sexes. They are arranged in a small panicle that appears in the leaf axils during summer.
Fruit: The short follicle is rounded with a pointed beak and is pendant on long stalks. The fruit contains 4 to 15 thin coated seeds that are pubescent at one end and surrounded by endosperm that has a honeycomb-like appearance.
