Take semi-hard wood cuttings taken during autumn and winter.
Culture
The tree tolerates a light prune to form a hedge but is otherwise pruning is not normally required.
Botanic information
Leaf: The juvenile leaves only appearing on young seedlings and the adult gland-less scale leaves have a soft texture. They are compressed and overlapping along the drooping branchlets.
Flower: The small female cones are prickly and brown and appear towards the end of the branchlets during early summer.
Fruit: The globose immature cones are purple then ripen to shinny brown with 8 to 10 scales. Mature cones are hard and woody.
