Propagation
Sow fresh seed in boxes or beds, covered with 2-3 mm of sifted soil mix. Prick out when large enough to handle and space 150mm (6in) apart, during spring.
Botanic information
Leaf: The small linear to lanceolate leaves are grey green with entire margins.
Flower: The cyathiform flowers are white, pink, and violet with 4-flat petals and a calyx in 4-parts. They are arranged in a rounded terminal raceme and appear throughout the year in warm climates. The flowers commence 7 to 8 weeks after sowing.
Fruit: The small capsular fruit contains tiny seeds, up to 2800 per gram.
