Surface sow fresh seed and keep moist, from spring, summer and autumn. Prick out when large enough and space plants at 150mm (6 in) apart in prepared beds.
Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are ovate to obovate with a tomentose surface that has heavy venation. Leaf base is cordate and the petiole is long.
Flower: The tiny tubular blue to mauve flowers are crowded into terminal fluffy cluster that appears above the foliage on a short peduncle profusely over the plant from early spring to autumn.
Fruit: The seeds are very small with 8,000 per gram and are very viable.
