Botanic information
Leaf: The broad obovate leaves are rounded in outline with the upper half toothed. It is strongly aromatic when crushed.
Flower: The violet to mauve or pale lilac to white labiate flower have bi-lobed upper petals and tri-lobed lower petals. The flowers are arranged in a terminal raceme that appears during spring.
Fruit: The small capsule is green turning to brown as it agesand contains numerous seeds. The small seeds are viable but the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
