Propagation
Take semi hardwood cuttings taken from summer to autumn.

Sow fresh seed during spring and prick out when large enough to handle.
In moist areas graft onto Westringia fruiticosato avoid root rot.

Culture
Plants may require regular light pruning when young to encourage a dense habit and mature plants may be pruned after flowering.


Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are ovate to lanceolate, up to 12 mm (½ in) wide with shallow serrations along the margins. The upper surface is textured with oil glands and when crushed are aromatic. var. P. latifolahas leaves that are broader with margins that are serrated.

Flower: The blue to mauve labiate flowers have a bilobed top petal and a tri-lobed lower petal. The flowers are arranged in a terminal or axillary raceme and appear during spring.

Fruit: The small capsule contains numerous seeds that are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
