Propagation
Surface sow fresh seed during spring and prick out when large enough to handle. Pot up into a well drained organic rich, media.

Take semi hardwood cuttings from summer to autumn and place in a warm humid environment.

General pruning information
This plant does not regenerate from a hard prune into old wood but respond from a light trim directly after flowering.


Botanic information

Leaf: The linear to lanceolate leaves are up to 6 mm (¥ in) wide with an acute apex and a short petiole. The new growth is reddish turning dark green as it matures and the leaves have a strong lemon scent when crushed.

Flower: The small rotate flower has a smooth calyx tube and 5-obovate petals with the stamens arranged in bundles of 5 to 7 around the green receptacle. The flowers appear solitary in the upper leaf axils abundantly from early to mid summer.

Fruit: The woody domed capsule has 2 to 5 cells and contains numerous fine seeds that are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
