Propagation
Sow seed when ripe in pots and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F), may requires scarification or pre soaking in water for several hours.

Culture
Older plants are susceptible to borers causing it to lose branches or split open.
This plant is resistantto Phytophthora cinnamomi.


Botanic information
Leaf: The mid to dark green leathery texture phyllodes are up to 20 mm (µ in)wide with two main parallel veins. The apex is acute and the petiole is short.

Flower: The small butter yellow bisexual tubulate flowers have inconspicuous sepals and petals with numerous prominentstamens. Theyare arranged in a spike that usually appears in pairs in the leaf axils during early spring and are up to 60mm (2½in) long.

Fruit: The flattened pod is up to 6mm (¥ in) wide and is green ageing to brown. The small hard seeds germinate after low intensity fire in its native setting.

General information on pruning Acacia species
Tolerates a light prune after flowering back to a node, remove any dead wood back to the collar. If there is insufficient light towards the base of the tree prune the crown to allow the light in. The plants tend to be easily damaged by wind or borers, and damaged material should be removed.
