Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring or when available in pots and place them in a cold frame to germinate. Pre-soak the seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification.

General information on pruning Acacia species
Tolerates a light prune after flowering back to a node, remove any dead wood back to the collar. If there is insufficient light towards the base of the tree prune the crown to allow the light in. The plants tend to be easily damaged by wind or borers, and damaged material should be removed.
Botanic information
Leaf: The phyllodes have lanceolate to oblong leaflets that are up to 50mm (2in) long. They are bronze when young ageing to dark green. The petiole is up to 60 mm (2?in)long and has a swollen base. There is a gland 20 mm (µin) below the first pair of pinnae.
Flower: The pale yellow bisexual tubulate flowers have inconspicuous sepals and petals with numerous prominentstamens. They are arranged in a panicle that consists of 40 to 50 blooms and appear throughout summer.
Fruit: The flattened pod is up to 15 mm (?in)wide and is green ageing to brown.
