Propagation
Take soft tip cuttings during late spring and semi-hardwood cuttings in summer. Place in a well drained media; keep moist and apply bottom heat.
Botanic information
Leaf: The lanceolate to broad lanceolate leaves have an acute apex and a short reddish petiole. The upper surface is glossy dark green with 5-prominent veins and a rough texture. The underside is pale green and all surfaces are covered in short whitish hairs
Flower: The rotate flowers have 5-obovate light purple petals with darker veins and a central boss of pubescent stamens. They are arranged in a terminal panicle on 4-winged stems above the foliage and appear profusely from late summer to autumn.
Fruit: Urceolate capsule is dull red and pubescent covered in brown bristles and releases numerous tiny seeds. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
