Divide the rhizome during spring.

Sow fresh seed during spring and place in wet soils and maintain a temperature of 18º to 21º C.

Leaf: The lanceolate dark green leaves are reduced to form bracts that are needle- like.

Flower: The brown flowers are small and are arranged is a compound umbels that become pendant with age appearing during early summer.

Fruit: The small flattened nut is 3 angular.The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
