Sow fresh seed after scarifying using hot water treatment during spring.

This plant self-sows easy and may become weed.


Botanic information
Leaf: The paripinnate leaves close at night and when conditions are dry and are a light green colour with a yellowish ting along the margins, the underside is pale green.

Flower: The crateriform flowers have 5 overlapping petals and are buttercup shape. They are arranged in an axillary raceme and appear profusely during midsummer.

Fruit: The long shiny cylindrical brown pods hang from the shrub and are 8 to 12mm (1in) diameter splitting open to disperse the 20 to 40 black seeds. The seed has a long viability period and is dispersed by birds or water.
