Propagation
Sow seed when ripe and keep moist, maintaining a temperature of 25ºC (77º F). Germination takes up to 90 days to 1-year germinating sporadically. Do not allow the seeds to dry out before sowing.


Botanic information
Leaf: The imparipinate fronds have up to 20-lanceolate leaflets up to 150mm (6in) long pointing forward on each side of the rachis. The frond is upright and arching with pendant leaflet tips.

Flower: The erect inflorescence has a long peduncle with 4 to 9 bracts and the axis (rachillae) may be branched and turning red. The male flowers are yellowish with united calyx lobes and petals forming a triangular opening. The female flowers are simular but more globose and appear in summer.

Fruit: The berry-like fruit is globose, yellow turning black when ripe and the juice may irritate skin on contact.
