Propagation
Take semi hardwood cuttings from summer to autumn and hardwood cuttings during winter.
Culture
Care should be taken when planting as the suckering tendrils can disfigure or mark surfaces.
Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves have 3-pronounced lobes that are serrated with an acuminate apex. The base is cordate and the leaves are opposite a tendril or another leaf. The leaf colour is apple green turning red-mauve to yellowish during late autumn.
Note
Terminal bud missing and the sessile laterals are brown, conical with 2 to 3 exposed scales. Juvenile foliage may be arranged alternately along the stems.
Flower: The tiny stellate flowers are arranged in a pendant terminal panicle that appears from spring to early summer and tend to be inconspicuous amongst the foliage.
Fruit: The flattened globose dark blue berry appears in pendant grape-like bunches. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
