Propagation
Take soft tip cuttings during summer and hardwood cuttings during winter for the cultivars.

Sow fresh seed from autumn to spring and in cold climates place in a cold frame to germinate.


Botanic information
Leaf: The almost sessile leaves are oblong to ovate and the apex is acute to mucronate.

Flower: The yellow crateriform flowers have 5-petals and a central boss of prominent exserted stamens. They are solitary or arranged in an axillary cyme that consists of up to 15 blooms and appear from early to late summer.

Fruit: The capsule is urn shape with 3 to 5 valves and contains numerous tiny seeds. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
