Propagation
Take hardwood cuttings during winter from 15mm to 250mm (9µ in) long and soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during spring.
Botanic information
Leaf: The large palmately lobed leaves are deeply incised with3-5 rounded lobes (trilobed appearance) and the petiole is up to 100mm (4in) long.
'Digitata' this hybrid forms more narrow deeply cut lobes.
Flower: The tree is monoecious and has greenish male and female flowers that appear in separate pendulous globose clusters of 3 to 6 from under the leaves. They appear from late spring to early summer.
Fruit: The bead-like brown seeds hang from the tree and appear like warty balls, each contain multiple achenes. The seeds are viable but the plant can be reproduced vegetatively.
