Propagation
Take hardwood cuttings up to 200 mm (7µ in) long during winter and pre-callous before planting.

Culture
This tree becomes massive with roots that can damage drains and walls requiring ample room to grow.


Botanic information
Leaf: The large palmately lobed leaves have 3 to 5 lobes that are toothed with an acute to obtuse apex and are up to 300 mm (1ft) wide. The base is truncate and the slightly flattened petiole is up to 100mm (4in) long. During autumn the leaves turn mid brown to yellow before falling.

Flower: The weeping male and female flowers are inconspicuous and appear with the new growth during spring in a pendulous globose cluster.

Fruit: The aggregate of achenes are up to 2.5cm (1in) in diameter (syncarp of achenes) appearing mainly in pair`s and the fruit looks like hairy balls. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
