Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and it can take up to 12 months to germinate. Under favourable conditions plants usually self-sows.
Take cuttings and during the growing period and place in a protected environment.
Botanic information
Leaf: The deeply lobed broad ovate silvery green leaves are covered in fine hairs.
Flower: The radiate flowers have greenish florets that are surrounded by white pubescent petal-like bracts that are up to 80mm (3in) long and sometimes tipped with green. The flannel flower name arises from its felty texture of the petals and appears from late spring to early summer.
Fruit: The schizocarpiccapsulehas anovary with one chamber and one ovule. The tiny seeds are viable but the the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
