Propagation
Division. Lift the bulb clump during late winter and separate the bulbs. Replant in a fresh bed from autumn to early spring with the top of bulb just below soil surface.
Sow fresh seeds during spring but may not grow true to form.
Botanic information
Leaf: The long narrow linear leaves are strap-like and arching and vary in size. The dwarf varieties have much smaller leaves.
Flower: The funnelform flowers are arranged in a terminal cluster on a tall branched scape frm early to late summer. There are many cultivars available in different shapes and colours.
Fruit: The small seed is not commonly used and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively to maintain true to type.
